Picture in Picture Watercolor The point of this project is to select a good subject matter, enlarge a portion of it in the background and paint the whole picture somewhere in the foreground. This project helps focus on selecting subeject matter that works well with watercolor, placement, balance, color and flow. For the project to be successful you should be able to pick out what the picture is and be able to identify the background image as a portion of the original picture. The picture should flow and the smaller picture should balance the background and one should lead the eye to the other. 3D Painting The object of this project is to take a canvas, acrylic paint, plaster, objects, model magic and any thing else and make a painting that is 3D. There are also few limitations on subject matter, although designs should be original. Above are a few examples of past 3D paintings on the left is an alien scene with 2 3D aliens sticking out in the foreground, on the right a scene with two people fishing. The 2 tree in the center is built up with model magic to make it stand out and be 3D.
