How to install the Terminal Server Client

***You must have an existing Internet connection before you can begin***

1. Connect to the Internet if you have not done so already, and open your Web Browser.

2. Type the following on the Address or Location line, then press the Enter 

key: ftp://209.221.83.9  

In Netscape, the Location bar's title changes to "Go to:" when you type in it.

3. This Web Page will appear - this is how it appears in Internet Explorer; 

Netscape is similar:

4. Right-click on the "termcl.exe" and (Netscape users) click on "Save Link as..." or  (Internet Explorer users) click on "Open". For Internet Explorer (IE) users; a pop-up window will then appear with 4 buttons: "Open", "Save", "Cancel" and "More Info". Click on the button "Save".

5. A Save Dialog will appear:

In The "File Name" box, enter the following:c:\windows\temp\temcl.exe

6. Click on your "Start" button and click "Run":

7. Enter this: c:\windows\temp\termcl.exe - then click on "OK";

Make sure it is entered as shown.

8. This Unzip dialog will appear:

Make sure the "Unzip to folder" line reads C:\WINDOWS\TEMP 

as shown here, and keep the "Overwrite files" checkbox checked.  

Then click on "Unzip".

 

9. Click on your "Start" button and click on "Run". Enter the following:

 c:\windows\temp\setup.exe - then click on "OK".

Once again, make sure it is exactly as shown.

10. The standard Microsoft program installation wizard will now appear;

Click on "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen.  Another 

screen will then pop-up.

 

11. You will then arrive at a "Name and Organization Information" screen.  Type the following in: 

Once you have typed in the above in the proper fields (spaces provided) click on the "OK" button;

Name: Dr. Denison S.S.

Organization: YRDSB

 

 

If it is not already so, change the Name to Dr. Denison S.S. and the Organization to YRDSB as shown here.  Then click on the "OK" button.

 

12. A Dialog box asking you to confirm your information will appear.

Click on "OK".

 

13. A license Agreement will come up. You can read it if you wise, but you don't have to.  Once you have read it (or didn't) click on "I Agree";

You don't have to read this so just click on the "I Agree" button. 

 

14. The actual installation dialog will now appear;

Click on the large button to begin installing the software.

 

This Is the large button close up. Click on this.

 

15. Next it will ask you for a "Program Group".  Find and pick Terminal Server Client.  Once you have found and clicked on Terminal Server Client, click on "Continue".

The default is already set to Terminal Server Client, so press "Continue".

Installation is now complete!!
