The ENG1L
course is divided into two distinct, yet equally significant
sections. The students receive a grade that indicates his/her
proficiency in the Overall and Specific Expectations as evaluated
using the Achievement Chart (Knowledge, Thinking, Communication,
Application). The student will also receive a level of competence
in the Learning Skills, including effort, work habits, the
ability to work with peers and so forth. Both areas will be
evaluated for each unit of study, and both will be reflected
separately on the midterm and final report cards each semester.
Evaluation components:
- Term Work 40%
- Term Writing 30%
- Final Assessment Project 15%
- Final Assessment Exam 15%
