This award is presented annually to
the graduating student(s) who has demonstrated a keen interest in Geography
throughout their years at Dr. Denison. This student will have demonstrated
this interest through:
the successful completion of a number of Geography courses,
by being involved in Geography related activities outside
of the classroom,
and perhaps be planning to pursue a Geography related program
at a post secondary institution and/or a Geography related career.
Each years award winner receives a one
metre section of the Trans Canada Trail donated in their name. They
will receive a certificate from the Trans Canada Trail Association and
have their name engraved in one of the gazebos along the trail.
Over the years winners of the Geography Award represent over 10 metres of the trail which stretches from St. John's, Newfoundland to Victoria, British Columbia and to Inuvik, Northwest Territories. For more information about the Trans-Canada Trail click http://www.tctrail.ca/
