Apprenticeships are run by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (MTCU)

MTCU decides which trades will have apprenticeships, what the standards of training are, how many hours the training period will last

Call the MTCU at 416 326-5800

An apprentice should find an employer or sponsor who will agree to hire and train the apprentice

Or, call Job Connect at 905 898-4646 (located at 16655 Yonge Street, Newmarket, Ontario beside the TD Canada Trust Bank in the Weston Produce Plaza) and their staff will help find an employer

Take Cooperative Education at Denison. Placement in this program may lead to an apprenticeship -- through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) www.oyap.com

Colleges have apprenticeships. See the College Viewbooks (available in the Guidance Office) and websites to establish prerequisites for entrance into these programs.
