Welcome
to the Outdoor Adventure Leadership
Program!!!!
The Outdoor Adventure Leadership
Program (O.A.L) is a four credit
course designed to provide students
with the opportunity to create
a strong community of individuals
dedicated to developing knowledge,
leadership skills, and a sense
of adventure.
Community
Students involved in the O.A.L.
Program spend a lot of time
together and necesssity requires
that they learn how to get along.
They work hard a forging a close-knit
community that supports individuality,
and which recognizes character
more than personality.
Leadership
O.A.L. students study leadership
theory and develop leadership
skills during 6 wilderness adventure
trips throughout Ontario. Our
trips include a leadership and
canoe training experience at
Earl Rowe Provincial Park, a
canoe trip in Algonquin Provincial
Park, a backpacking trip in
Algonquin Provincial Park, a
mountain bike trip in Collingwood,
a winter cabing experience in
Minden, and a winter camping
trip to Silent Lake Provincial
Park. Overall our students get
over 20 days in a wilderness
setting to hone their outdoor
leadership skills.
Adventure
Adventure and challenge come
in many forms. Our students
test themselves rock climbing,
winter camping, canoeing, mountain
biking, backpacking, leading
a 5 min lesson, team building,
and cooking for 20 or more people.
Learning how to mangage themselves
and the group which leads to
incredible personal growth.
